God is Not What You Think
I realize that there are those who do not believe in God as a Divine Presence and who do not even like using the name. This is okay. You can call God by whatever form God shows up for you – be it Love, or Wisdom, or Life, or other forms of divine expression. God by any other name, is still God. There is not a finite God entity out there that will be offended by whatever name is used. It is entirely up to you how you connect with whatever God is for you. In fact, there is no name that captures all that God is. For that matter, there is no name that captures all that you are. The only pure name for God is in your own breath.
My own direct experience of God is full, permeating universal Presence, in me, all around me, as me, as all of existence, and greater than all of existence. It is to this God that I direct my prayers, whether in the moment I call it Love, Wisdom, Peace, Power, Christ, Logos, the Force – or my own higher Self. This is a God, not separate from me, but greater than I intellectually know myself to be. I know this God because I feel this God in my heartmind, I hear this God in the words of those near and dear to me, I see this God in the words of Scripture and in the people and things around me. This is the God my grandmother turned to in her human struggle. This is the God with which I have communed as my own eternal Self. Let us see what it is to spend a little time in direct communion with this God.
